Panay Cold Chain Services Corp
Exergy Philippines Corporation engaged into another 20-year Build, Own and Operate contract with Glacier Panay Refrigeration Services Corporation (GPanay) last October 2015. The GPanay is a cold storage facility that serves the quality preservation needs of selected cities of Panay Island. The design and field engineering implementation began on February 22, 2016 and was energized on June 01, 2016. The solar facility consists of 288 PV modules located on the south side of the facility’s roof and is complemented by three (3) grid-tied inverters. The solar plant is designed to harvest 37.44kWp energy in DC and converts it to AC three-phase power which garners a maximum of 36kW of power during most of its daily operation. With the reduction of energy needs during the peak hours of operation, the local electric distribution utility (CAPELCO) embraced the introduction of solar energy on the GPanay cold storage facility.
