Glacier Refrigerated Services Corporation - Taguig Metro Manila
After the 132kWp grid-tied plant with Du Pont Pioneer Seeds in Tarlac, Exergy’s second energy sales contract for Build, Own and Operate installation for a grid-tied solar power plant was awarded to Glacier Refrigerated Service Corporation (GRSC) in 36-C DBP Avenue, FTI Complex, Taguig, Metro Manila. Exergy’s relentless desire to optimize harvesting of the maximum amount of solar energy caused the design period to take longer than expected. Design and implementation started June 04, 2015 and testing and commissioning transpired on December 08, 2015. The plant is designed to have an installed capacity of 98.28kWp of PV module power and can generate a maximum of 96kW as three-phase AC. At present, around 12% of the power needs of GSRC are sourced from the solar power facility. The design structure consists of 756 PV modules that are strategically placed on a roof area of 1164 sqm., while eight (8) grid-tied inverters assure the conversion of DC to AC three-phase power that is compatible with the induction motors of the refrigeration system. The solar plant has an official net metering arrangement with the local electric distribution utility (MERALCO) for the sale of excess power.
